From Armenia With Purpose: Anet Abnous’ Journey Beyond Vacation

At the beginning of August, our co-founder, Anet Abnous, traveled to Armenia—a trip that was much more than a summer getaway. While reconnecting with her roots and enjoying the beauty of Armenia, Anet also carried with her a mission: to further the vision of Lusanet Collective and to strengthen ties between Armenian artisans and the international market.

During her visit, Anet was honored with an invitation to appear on Radio Van, one of Armenia’s most respected platforms. In this exclusive interview, she reflected on her ten years of artistry with Anet’s Collection and shared the inspiring story of Lusanet Collective, which she co-founded with Lusine Simonyan.

For the past three years, Lusanet Collective has grown into a vital hub that promotes, sells, and celebrates the work of Armenian artisans and designers—both from Armenia and across the diaspora. Anet spoke passionately about how she and Lucy have dedicated themselves to building bridges between local creators and the broader American market.

Sharing Insights and Addressing Challenges

The interview was not just a celebration of achievements—it was also a candid conversation about the real challenges Armenian designers face when trying to expand globally. Anet touched on issues in manufacturing, such as consistency and scalability, which often limit opportunities for artisans to compete in larger markets. She also discussed the importance of a sustainable price structure, urging designers to consider how their products can remain competitive while still honoring the value of their craftsmanship.

These insights are crucial for designers and artisans who aspire to reach international audiences. By addressing these challenges openly, Anet offered a roadmap for growth and provided encouragement that success abroad is not only possible but within reach.

A Platform for Armenian Talent

Through her own journey as a designer, Anet has gained invaluable experience navigating the U.S. market. Now, through Lusanet Collective, she and Lucy are leveraging that experience to uplift others. The Collective has become a space where stories, artistry, and cultural heritage come together, giving Armenian creators visibility in a market that craves unique, meaningful, and handmade work.

Her words during the Radio Van interview serve as both inspiration and a call to action: Armenian designers can and should dream bigger. With the right support and strategy, they can compete on the global stage, showcasing Armenia’s rich traditions and contemporary creativity to the world.
